A six-month-old child died after his father reportedly bent him in half to keep him from crying.
Robert Anthony Resendiz, 30, was arrested on Dec.19 after his son was rushed to Phoenix Children’s Hospital with injuries doctors describe as “not survivable,” KPHO reported.
Resendiz called police to his home at 12:45 p.m. after he claimed to have just woken up and found his baby son “unresponsive and not breathing,” according to a police officer’s arrest report.
An officer performed CPR on the child until paramedics arrived.
Doctors told police later that the infant suffered lacerations to his pancreas and liver, a wrist fracture and bruises on his thigh.
